Bradford City Centre Beat (CCB), the city’s Business Crime Reduction Partnership, has been awarded the National Standards Accreditation for 2025, recognising its excellence in management practices, partnership working, and data handling, particularly in relation to GDPR compliance and intelligence sharing.
The accreditation acknowledges CCB’s achievements in secure data management and sharing protocols, strong member agreements and regulatory compliance, and effective partnership work across business and policing sectors.
Sophie Jordan, Manager of the National Association of Business Crime Partnerships (NABCP), commended the team on their award:
"Congratulations to Bradford City Centre Beat BCRP on successfully achieving the BCRP National Standards Accreditation. Bradford City Centre Beat is a well-established partnership, supported by a committed team and strong business engagement. The assessor noted clear and consistent communication, including regular briefings for local business staff, and effective collaboration with partners.”
CCB works to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour, supporting local businesses and enhancing safety for staff, shoppers, and visitors across Bradford city centre. Official Shop Theft offences recorded in Bradford City Centre have reduced in the last 6 months by 50% from 77 offences to 40 offences.
As part of its strategy, CCB offers a secure digital radio network connecting businesses with PCSOs, CCTV, and each other. Weekly intelligence briefings and the use of the SENTRYSIS app allow members to share and receive real-time alerts on known offenders operating in the city centre.
Steve Baker, Manager of CCB, said:
“We are proud to have received the 2025 National Standards Accreditation. It demonstrates to our members that their data is handled with the utmost care and security in our shared mission to tackle business crime. Our strong partnerships ensure our members feel supported in protecting their staff and customers.”
CCB collaborates closely with Bradford BID, Neighbourhood Policing Teams, Bradford Council, and major retail sites including The Broadway, Kirkgate Centre, and Forster Square Retail Park.
Jonny Noble, Chief Executive of Bradford BID, added: “The ongoing collaboration between CCB, BID, the police, and other partners has helped Bradford outperform national trends in retail crime. We’re excited to be trialling body-worn cameras, especially for smaller independent businesses, to further deter theft, reassure staff, and collect vital evidence.”
Inspector Justin Adams of Bradford City Neighbourhood Policing Team said:
“We welcome the news that Bradford City Centre Beat has achieved its National Standards Accreditation. We work closely with partners in the city centre to tackle anti-social behaviour, business and retail crime and will continue to work to make the city a safe and vibrant place to live and work.”
CCB is a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping businesses reduce crime and build a safer, more welcoming Bradford city centre.
